Dominican Republic

We were immersed in the culture and community of a rural Dominican Republic village, visited the local KG-12 school and met with the students there. We helped with play learning, visited local health care clinics to better understand access to services in rural communities and toured through the coffee plantation where the members shared how the cooperative has kept the spirit of the people in the community vibrant while they experienced hurricane damaged crops and droughts. We helped build a greenhouse and plant crops, alongside the small community of 1700 people.
